Xingping Town, a bright pearl in Lijiang River, is located in the northeast 25 km (16 miles) away from Yangshuo County Town. The backside picture of 20 RMB bill is exactly from Xingping. In this ancient and picturesque town, most ancient buildings with various types of brick and tile structures are well preserved.
Xingping Town is also famous for its beautiful nature landscape, such as the Nine-horse Painting Hill, Yellow Cloth Reflection, and Snail Hill, etc. There are also some mysterious and primitive villages nearby, Fishing Village that was visited by Dr. Sun Yetsen and Bill Clinton is one of them. For our Li River hiking routes, Xingping Town is always an important stop where hikers rest or have meals.
